A gram panchayat is an official financial plan of the income received and the expenses to be incurred during a financial year (April 1 to March 31).
The panchayat budget includes Sources of income:
Funds from the state government
Funds from central government schemes
Taxes (building tax, employment tax, etc.)
License fees, fines, and other income
Expenditure:
Construction and maintenance of roads
Drinking water schemes
Street lights
Sanitation activities
Health, education, and welfare schemes
