Panchayat
A panchayat is an assembly of elected representatives to carry out the administrative functions of panchayati raj institutions. In relation to a gram panchayat, it is the main committee that implements the decisions of the gram sabha and manages day-to-day administration. The main components of a panchayat are: President: The head of the panchayat. Presides over meetings and oversees the overall functioning of the panchayat. Vice President: Takes on responsibilities in the absence of the President. Ward Members: Elected representatives from each ward of the panchayat. Standing Committees: Subcommittees formed to facilitate decision-making for matters like finance, development, welfare, health, and education.
