The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act guarantees 100 days of employment in a financial year to any rural household with adult members willing to do unskilled sports work. Ensuring socio-economic progress and social equality of people in rural areas, increasing local employment and income, reducing gender inequality, equal pay for equal work, preventing migration to cities, strengthening agriculture by ensuring protection of soil-water, biological resources and environment.
